Jessica Ávila
My name is Jessica Ávila, and I work at Suyapa Apparel as an inspector. My responsibility is to ensure the quality of the garments we ship for export.
I joined the company eight months ago, and thanks to the instructors and the support I’ve received, I’ve experienced significant growth. Today, I consider my performance to be very good.
What motivates me to stay at Grupo Elcatex is the desire to keep studying, grow professionally, and improve my work and personal situation. This is my first job, and one of my greatest achievements has been learning to work as part of a team and adapt to the work environment, which was a challenge at first.
I am currently studying Business Administration, and my goals are to graduate from college, continue developing, and support my family.
My main strengths are quick adaptation, teamwork, and good relationships with my colleagues.
My message to other employees is that we should work together because when there is agreement, we can achieve great results, both in production and in any goal.

Edith Janet Domínguez Licona
My name is Edith Janet Domínguez Licona, I am 20 years old, and I am an inspector. My responsibilities include controlling dozens on the board and system, box alignment, and keeping my area clean. Additionally, as inspectors, we must be aligned with auditing and observe every detail, just like a process auditor.
I joined the company on February 17, 2025. At first, I felt afraid because this area involves great responsibility, but over time I have adapted, become more flexible, and learned to work with different styles.
I am motivated to continue my studies and financially support my mother, with whom I live. Thanks to this job, I am close to achieving a very important goal: owning my own home.
One of my biggest challenges was dealing with client rejections, which led to many meetings and pressure for inspectors. I learned that each style has its particularities, and you must know how to identify defects from the process to the end.
My strengths are agility, learning ability, and patience—a key skill in this area.
My goal is to study at university, and although it sounds challenging, I would like to work in Human Resources at Grupo Elcatex because I am attracted to that environment and want to prepare to get there.
My message to other employees is to have patience, perseverance, and work together. A strong team can achieve great things.

Gloria Carolina Rivas Salguero
My name is Gloria Carolina Rivas Salguero, I am 24 years old, and I work at Suyapa as a sleeve-sewing operator. My responsibility is to meet production targets and ensure the quality of each garment.
I started on August 19, 2024, in the inspection area, and then I was assigned to the machine area, where I now work sewing sleeves—a challenge that initially caused fear but that I now enjoy and master.
What motivates me to keep working at Grupo Elcatex is the desire to learn new operations, grow professionally, and improve my quality of life. Thanks to this job, I have been able to study beauty and buy my motorcycle—achievements I value greatly.
My biggest challenge was adapting to machine work. I felt afraid, but I learned that with effort and determination, great things can be achieved.
My main strength is determination: when I set my mind to something, I achieve it. I strive in every area where I am assigned, and I know I can learn new operations.
My goals are to own my own home and continue growing in my studies.
My message to other employees is to fight for what they want. With effort and dedication, everything is possible.

Keyvi Pineda Hernández
My name is Keyvi Pineda Hernández, and I work at Suyapa Apparel as a sleeve-sewing operator. My main responsibility is to meet the assigned production.
When I started, I only produced three dozen, and now I achieve between eight and nine. I have grown both in skills and performance, especially in this operation, which is very critical. I also know how to perform other tasks such as overlock stitching and closing sleeves.
My greatest motivation is my children. I am a single mother, and I want to provide them with stability and a better future. I want to grow in the plant, improve my production, and achieve a better future.
Thanks to this job at Grupo Elcatex, I have been able to continue my studies at IHER, where I recently moved from eighth to ninth grade. I have also learned to be strong and face the challenges of my family situation.
I have skills such as learning quickly, staying focused, drawing, and a special interest in the beauty field.
My future goals are to build my house and own my own car. I want my children to have a stable home.
My advice to other employees is to take advantage of the study opportunities offered by the company because they are a foundation for growth and self-improvement. This company has been a great opportunity for me, and I continue to grow thanks to commitment and the desire to learn.
Eda Sorto
When I started reviewing everything I had done before, I realized I had things stored—knowledge I had left behind—and I needed to pick them up again. I had to remember how to use some applications and how to do each task. In the end, that was good because it helped me see what I had stored that I could still use, what I could improve, and what I needed to study again to keep growing.
If I were given the opportunity to continue studying, I would like to pursue a master’s degree in human resources and English. That is a goal I have for the coming years.
I want to thank you for the opportunity because I had been trying to enter various fields and couldn’t find a job. It was very difficult, but I made it. That has meant a lot to me.
After about three years of looking for a job opportunity, I came to think that maybe I should stop. I felt that there were things I learned in college but needed to update my knowledge. So I started looking for online courses on leadership, life skills—everything I could take advantage of on the internet. Since I like reading, I began dedicating more time to it.
In that process, I realized that many professionals, even with master’s degrees, were unemployed and had aspirations similar to mine.
My advice is this: don’t settle for the idea of “I already have the degree, and that’s it.” We need to read more, constantly update ourselves, and be self-taught. That makes us more competitive and more sought after in a company. Because it’s not always just about experience; a good professional profile is also built with continuous preparation.
Emy Aleman
It has been a completely different experience—a big change for me. Coming from a completely different area made me see things differently. When you are in the production department, you only see everything superficially. But once in this new department, I realized everything the tasks involve, the responsibility they imply, and also how important it is to learn to deal with employees and solve the problems they may have.
Before, I saw things more technically, but now everything is more personal, more oriented toward interacting with each person, each employee. That is one of the biggest differences between the areas, and it is something I have had to learn day by day.
My message to my colleagues, above all, is to keep studying. Education opens many doors. Fight for your goals and dreams because there is no goal or dream that is impossible. Everything can be achieved with dedication and effort.
I want to thank God first and then the company for giving me the opportunity to develop both personally and professionally. I feel that I have achieved several of the objectives I had when I joined. During orientation, they asked us what our goal was, and most of us said we wanted to grow. I said the same, and today I can proudly say that I did it—I achieved the professional and personal growth I set out for myself.
Sara Caballero
My name is Sara Esperanza Caballero. I am originally from San Pedro Sula. I am currently studying Industrial Relations at UTH. I am married and have two children.
In my free time, I enjoy going out with my family. We love going out to eat and to the movies. I also really like cycling; I enjoy riding my bike a lot.
One of my dreams has always been to travel. I like discovering new places, and thanks to God, I have been able to do so. Personally, one of my goals is to keep growing within the company and also dedicate myself to real estate. I like acquiring properties. I already own my own home, and one of my achievements has been remodeling it to my liking. The promotions I have received within the company have helped me achieve that goal.
I consider myself a person with strong leadership skills. People tell me that, and I feel it too. I am an empowered woman in that area.
I have been working at the company for almost six years. I am currently a Training Coordinator. One of my main motivations to stay here is that the group offers many real growth opportunities.
The opportunity to work at Suyapa came because a department head in engineering, with whom I had already worked at another company, opened the doors for me. I love training people from scratch. And although a supervisor tends to give orders, the engineering department is more about service—teaching—and that is what drives me.
Also, when I joined Suyapa, the company only had two teams. I was practically there from the start. And I said: there will be many opportunities here. And that’s how it has been. I started as an instructor, then I was promoted to training supervisor, and later to training coordinator, which is the position I currently hold.
One of the biggest challenges I have faced has been getting the plant up and running from scratch. It is not easy to start a completely new plant. But today we are well-positioned, and for me, that has been a huge achievement and challenge.
A message I would share is don’t give up. Keep studying. The group offers excellent growth opportunities, and it is worth fighting for the dreams you have.
Finally, I want to express my gratitude. I am very thankful for all the opportunities I have been given.
