The Art of the Sustainable Print
What’s better than a killer design on a super-soft tee? A killer design on a super-soft tee that’s saving the planet.
At Allmade, we believe that sustainability and creativity go hand-in-hand—especially when it comes to screen printing. Our blank tees are made with eco-conscious materials like organic cotton and recycled polyester, but that’s just the beginning of the story.
Enter: 5 ways you can make your print more sustainable.
1. Eco Inks FTW
Swap out plastisols packed with PVC and phthalates for:
-
Water-based inks like Green Galaxy or Zadiac Aquarius – super soft hand feel and a lower chemical clean up.
-
Soy- or algae-based inks – emerging alternatives that ditch petroleum.
-
Low-cure plastisols like Wilflex Epic Rio LC – cure at lower temps to save energy.
2. Lower the Heat
Use low-cure inks + efficient dryers (like the BBC Aeolus) to cut down energy usage and avoid overheating your shop (or your team).
3. Go Chemical-Lite
Swap harsh reclaim chemicals for eco-friendly screen wash options like:
-
Add a dip tank so you are keeping chemicals from going down the drain and saving water.
-
ALL Sgreen consumables, Franmar's Bean-e-doo or Eco Wash from CCI – safer for your team and the water supply.
4. Reclaim & Reuse
-
Add a developer tank (a dip tank with just water) to develop screens after exposure which saves water and increases efficiency.
-
Use a closed-loop reclaim system to reduce water waste.
-
Reuse screens whenever possible.
-
Switch to recycled or recyclable film for burning screens.
5. Try CTS & LTS
Direct-to-screen tech like the EXILE SPYDER CTS or SAATI LTS helps ditch emulsion, film, and extra chemicals, streamlining setup while reducing waste.
6. Shop Smart
Use eco-conscious cleaning rags, biodegradable gloves, and post-consumer recycled packaging when shipping out tees. Every small step counts.
When you start with Allmade's sustainable blanks and pair them with eco-forward print practices, you’re creating more than merch—you’re creating impact!
