Mel Lay
In 2014, Mel founded SandiLake Clothing™, a children’s unisex clothing brand. Within the first few years from the company’s inception, she battled and won against Target copying her designs, and went up against the Sharks on ABC’s Shark Tank.
In 2016, Ryan Moor approached Mel about joining this team of makers to create a new kind of tee. After sharing some stories about his initial Haiti trip, Mel was sold. She joined the first founders trip in Haiti just a few months later. Seeing all the hands it takes to make one garment changed her perspective as a business owner.
In 2019, she sold her company to focus on sustainable fashion and help propel this movement forward to elevate standards of apparel manufacturing.
