Inside Look: Allmade’s 2024 Trip to Honduras
Get ready to tag along on an adventure with Camp Allmade in Honduras! This year, we dove into the heart and soul of Allmade’s sustainable apparel for three days, exploring everything from local, lively markets to the factory floors, and meeting the incredible people in the community and behind each eco-friendly garment.
Day 1: The First 24 Hours – Exploring the Roots of Sustainability
We arrived in Honduras and dove right into Honduran culture, exploring a local market and savoring dishes like tortillas and chicharrones. The next day, we toured Elcatex, our eco-friendly factory powered by steam and solar, where we watched fabric scraps transform into new tees—a true highlight!
Day 2: Spinning, Stitching, and Supporting the Community
Our day began at Central America Spinning Works, where no bit of cotton goes to waste. We saw firsthand how each thread is spun with care and purpose. Later, we toured Allmade-supported housing for employees and visited the Osovi Girls' Orphanage, a safe haven for girls ages 2 to 20.
Day 3: Education, Empowerment, and Emotional Goodbyes
On day 3, we visited Motivo, a school offering education for local children, and Genesis, where skilled artisans bring Allmade designs to life on the sewing line. Our final stop at Osovi included painting a mural, dancing, and emotional goodbyes.
Our Camp Allmade journey in Honduras was unforgettable, especially our time at the Osovi Girls’ Foster Home—a refuge providing young girls with safety, education, and a place to thrive.
Seeing the joy and resilience of these girls was a powerful reminder that there’s still so much we can do to support them. By donating to our fundraiser, you can continue to provide essentials like new beds and educational supplies, helping these girls feel secure and loved. Every donation makes a difference.
